Prerequisites

• You have to charge your Zenfone 4 battery up to 70 – 80% – This is the minimum requirement or you can also charge fully.
• Do enable “USB Debugging” on your phone.
• Never forget to take backup of your data on your system.
• Install USB Drivers on your system to recognize your phone.

How To Root Asus Zenfone 4

1. Download and extract the “This Package” on your system.
2. Turn your phone off.
3. You have to enter into “Droidboot” mode by pressing and holding “Power + Vol Up + Vol Down” buttons together for a few seconds.
4. You will get a screen with a message saying “Ready to Download”.
5. Now, connect your phone to your Computer via USB data cable.
6. Navigate to extracted folder and open “OPEN.CMD” file.
7. Type the following command on an open command prompt window – fastboot flash update root_zenfone4_v4.2.0.zip
8. Press enter to start the rooting process.
9. You have to wait for sometime to complete the process.
10. Once the process is successfully completed, your device will be rebooted.
